Carl, W2AZQ of beacon TH fame, myself and a few others have started
checking 1900 kHz propagation at mid day. We've found paths up to 275
miles are often useable. I was with a group that did this about 30 years
ago. Occasionally we made midday contacts with ops in South Florida and
with K8JDM in Michigan. We've been doing this almost daily since the first
of the year just to observe daily changes in skywave propagation. There
has been times no one was copied beyond ground wave distance and at other
times Carl has had S9 signals with WA4PGI at 275 miles. Of course we would
welcome anyone interested to join in. Activity runs from 12:30 to about 1
p.m. ET.
