Hello,

I thought I'd mention that there is now a 630 meter receiver on the
Northern Utah WebSDR (for which I am one of the sysops) that may be
found here:

http://websdr3.utahsdr.org:8901/?tune=474usb

The receiver itself covers from 389 kHz to 485 kHz - this being the 96
kHz bandwidth limit of the sound card.  This is using the same antenna
as the other HF receivers at the site and even though the antenna itself
is rated for 3-30 MHz, it seems to function well at 630 meters, often
capturing VK4 and Alaska/Hawaii on WSPR:  The "KA7OEI-2" WSPRNet reports
are from a KiwiSDR at this same site.  More information about the
receiver and antennas at this site can be found by following the
"Technical Information" link and looking at its linked page(s).

Unfortunately, the antenna's performance falls flat by the time one gets
to 250 kHz and the E-field whip at my urban QTH outperforms it on 2200
and 1750 meters - although we are looking into the practicality of
installing an E-field whip or H-loop on the site to cover 1750-2200
meters.  While the site is normally "pretty quiet" in terms of AC mains
noise, there's an intermittent problem on a nearby powerline (>1/2 mile
away) that we're trying to locate.

Although this new receiver is "just in time" for summer, it will
(hopefully!) be online for the coming fall/winter LF/MF season.

73,

Clint
