Garry: Thanks, the results appear to be similar to the kind of WSPR15 SNRs
from SIW I had received last winter. LF conditions may be a quieter than
average for the 24 to 48 hours since the ionosphere gave up its energy from
the last X class flare and geomag swings. I had good results from WH2XGP
overnight on the same NW EWE antenna on the 630m band with 33 decodes and
best signal level close to audible range at -14 SNR. At this point I have
to conclude I have not done any harm to the EWE antennas by raising them to
the 25 to 30ft level for LF/MF reception.
I'm still toying with ARGO to figure out the correct offset for the 185.185
QRSS mode....I started with 1610 Hz but changed to 1615Hz. I have some flat
line signals but not sure what they are at the moment in QRSS30 slow. I may
have to use QRSS60 to have long enough traces for visual IDs....

QRZ.com says path to NK9M is 700km. Plugging that and .185 MHz into the Free
Space Path Loss equation yields 32.45 +20*Log(.185) + 20*Log(700) or about
75 dB WSPR 15 reporting -37, so -75 (+) - 37 is -112 signal level assuming
SIW is 0 dBm radiated and if my thinkiing is not off base...(could be as I
am not adding my rx antenna inefficiency---just assuming it is part of
the -37 SNR). I need to contemplate path loss order of magnitude for a
bit....
By coincidence ARGO was showing quietest noise level around -74 in QRSS60
earlier in the day with SIW 6 to 7 dB out of the noise.
