Hi Warren,

The receiving antenna is a 550 foot long NE/SW switchable Beverage 
made of WD1A field phone wire. This was part of my 160 meter 
station, never intended for LF use. There is some "accident" about 
it working. I have four similar Beverages for eight switchable 
directions. The other seven directions are almost completely useless 
at LF, but this one has magic. By the way, it only works when I 
select the SW direction. When I switch to NE, all signals (including 
those from Europe) drop by 15 to 20 dB.

The receiver is a SoftRock Lite II SDR kit (under $25) modified for 
use at 2200 meters.
