I see that overnight he was even spotted in Alaska. After daybreak,
apparently only W7IUV and I were still watching and/or were close enough
to see anything, and there was a while now that I've been the only
reporter.
As of about an hour ago, the signal faded into obscurity here, and I'm a
little baffled by that. (It's probably returning while I'm here in town;
this is about the time it started picking up yesterday afternoon.) It was
solar noon at mid-point when it dropped out today, but the D-layer
obviously shouldn't be blocking groundwave...which I can be reasonably
sure is my usual mode of reception of XND in the daytime, because I
normally get a much better daytime signal from him in the warm months when
there's more high angle solar flux.
