VE7SL also has a simple lowfer transmitter project described in his web 
pages.

Perhaps more of a challenge is getting a reasonably efficient antenna and 
ground system with variometer tuning operational.  You might look back on 
this reflector for

discussions between N8OOU and W1VD with respect to lowfer antenna tuning for 
the past month or two....
