Hi wanted to let you all know I was reading the mail ... literally. Very interesting discussions
on the various sites, antennae, software etc Love it. Especially on e-probes and loops.
Mike WA3TTS has graciously been mentoring for over a month now. Thanks Mike!
BSEE by education, specialized in electromagnetics and communications. Used it some
but not a lifelong profession, unfortunately. Currently, I manage technology projects
and programs of various kinds. Some radio & wireless, others not.
My site is kind of conducive to 2200m & 630m. Allot of tall deciduous trees with some pines
and cedars. I likely will out up an 80 ft vertical with 4 wire top hat (bit of an umbrella).
Have to get going on that asap before the leaves pop out else I cant see due to the foliage.
For RX, its pretty quite. All utilities are buried and the houses are about 250ft apart.
Soil conductivity is ok but not great. I have a few options for RX ants. Likely will use an
Icom R75. The receiver is naked now without OXCO or filters. Im pretty good
with computers and software, but Im new to Argo, WSPR and QRSS et.al.
