WH2XND did even better than usual Tuesday afternoon, with indicated SNRr
of -4 to 0 dB and aural copy of the signal quite loud. There was a double
dip in signal to as low as -16, once before and once after sunset, then a
nice recovery but somewhat wider and more rapid fluctuations than are
usual for him after dark.
My main goal for the evening was WM, however. When I tuned there, I had
good copy of SIW but only occasional bits of FSK from WM...not enough yet
for a complete ID, actually, even at this late hour.
I'll keep monitoring, but I don't have a lot of hope because even SIW has
experienced deeper and more prolonged fades tonight than is usual. I've
had several false starts that I thought might be SJ, but none have panned
out, and TAG has completely eluded me thus far too. Negligible QRN
tonight, but lots of PLCs from this region, and assorted fainter lines
coming and going at random each hour.
