John & All: Likewise in EN90 very audible signals at times from N1BUG on
2200m, best SNR -9 at 0742 UTC.
Likewise strong signals from WH2XXP, best -9 SNR at 0920, 0924, 0928, 0936.
Unfortunately no other distant stations were decoded in a few hours worth of
very quiet overnight receiving
conditions. Apparently the background noise was too high for my receiver to
detect either 2E0ILY or KA7OEI overnight. Only a few
120Hz image responses were noticed on K3RWR in the past 24 hours, which
I seem to occur when the K3RWR signal and a strong enough local in-band
noise signal occupy the same frequency together...
The Climate Prediction Center forecasts that cold air temperatures will
overtake the NE and mid-West US over the next few weeks, so
it will be interesting to see if the colder air mass translates into lower
background noise levels on 2200m. The last cold weather period here yielded
spots from W7IUV and KA7OEI on 2200m -- of course, the rest of
the universe had to cooperate for those weak signal spots to be detected.
