Mike: I'm guessing you turned off WM momentarily about 1850 utc as I saw it
stop about then. Captures from mid morning in QRSS60 normal mode below.
Made on my NW EWE antenna which is pointed almost directly at SIW. I would
think the side of the cardio pattern would put WM down about 1.5 to 2 dB.
SIW stopped at 1809, I assume that was the switch to 185.185.

I looked at the GEOS geomag plot and we did have a geomagnetic "jerk" from
the normal sinusoidal pattern the past 12 hours. I also made a rx system
change
placing my 9th order Butterworth 300kHz LPF between my 2N5109 W1VD design
preamp output and the RAY6 Mini Circuits Level 23 Mixer, and a 5th order
Butterworth LPF with a shunt notch at mid-AM band at the preamp input. The
9th order Butterworth LPF has really excellent return loss performance, so
it may help the match and IMD performance of the mixer versus the preamp
going directly to the mixer.
I did a similar thing on 137 kHz overnight and logged 34 WA9CGZ decodes on
2200m wspr2, whereas previously I could only log a half-dozen or so CGZ
decodes overnight. Could be propagation effects as well, so it will take a
few weeks of observing to sort out if any real improvement is being
made---or just cooler weather lowering the atmospheric noise as the dominant
cause of the improved reception...
Tnx again for the beaconing efforts
73, Mike wa3tts
