Good signals last night from 474.2 kHz WSPR station WH2XCR in Maui so
turned to 353 kHz looking for NDB LLD in Lanai. Haven't heard it for
quite awhile due to very strong station PG in MB being right on top of
it. Fortunately most Canadian stations send true USB whereas most US
stations are DSB. LLD came through fine on LSB (-403 Hz) with a cycle
time of 8.46 seconds. Later tuned down to 332 kHz looking for NDB POA,
also in Hawaii. Past reception has been basically impossible due to
local station HK. However, that HK (there's still a station with the
same callsign in NC!) has gone QRT. Now the problem is NDB SBU running
at about the same USB offset and cycle time. While a clear reception of
the POA callsign wasn't possible there was a second "bump" in the
correlation function that was most likely due to POA. All in all an
interesting night for propagation to the west.
