I think all you need to do is just wait. I have been watching the past 
few days and sometimes either my ISP slows things down, or somewhere 
something slows down the transfer process.  A few times it has been so 
slow, I just gave up and come back later.

It seems like dropbox is sending every image down at once, because once 
you see the full page of thumbnails you can click to get a full screen 
displayed very quickly. Then you can click forward/backward thru the 
images full screen.
