Prior to WOLF hunting I checked for MP (from about half an hour before
sunset to roughly half an hour after), and then again after wrapping up at
2200 m. MP was present both times, with more QSB in the early part of the
evening and steadier signal later. I ran QRSS3 Slow and QRSS10 Normal
simultaneously. The QRSS10 display was better overall early in the evening,
but I kind of preferred the view at QRSS3 later.
By 9 PM CST, the signal was strong enough enough that I could hear the
carrier. At 03:02:20 UTC, the CW ID was audible and its sidebands were
visible, although QRN bursts made it impossible to copy all of it.
I hope Friday will be a less hectic day and also dry enough that I can check
during the afternoon to see when the signal first becomes visible.
