Hi Andy,
Thanks for the report on WM. I appreciate your feedback My goal was to
try to duplicate the analog WM look, and also experiment with improving
it with the digital hardware. I can quickly turn either the WM graphic,
or FSK segment off/on, and run with just the other.
The "WM" is created using the U3S custom graphic feature. The
hellschrieber font built in the U3S doesn't have the Ashlock look. Altho
it would likely come through better on the receiving end. I'll have to
set that up for a try.
The U3S currently restricts the output frequency to 1 Hz steps. To shift
the FSK portion up by .5 Hz, I had to make the complete FSK transmission
a graphic also. The output frequency is set to 185,300 in the U3S, the
bottom .5Hz in the graphic is not used.
I have been in contact with Hans, the U3S developer, to put some
enhancements in the U3S firmware which would give more capability to
LF/QRSS transmissions. That is of course, sometime down the road.
In the mean time we can continue to explore the capability the machine
has currently.
Thanks for listening.
