I'm glad to see that he apparently succeeded. He was back on when I ended
my HiFER misadventure this evening, but by that time I'd already missed
most of the critical-hours propagation transition.

What I'm wanting to do is document the better part of 24 hours of decodes
and waterfall display of the signal...at the very least, continuous
reception from three or four hours before sunset to at least four hours
after sunrise. But one complication is that I'm trying to do it when QRN
is consistently low, so that the results are not skewed and reflect
primarily ionospheric effects.

Thunderstorms in Louisiana are going to make that impractical tonight (was
already getting crashes from them at sunset), and QRM dominates 137.78
right now, so I packed up and returned to town for the night.

John
