J.B. & All:  I seem to be hearing EAR OK on my NW and NE EWE antennas---at least with my FT-817 IF receiver SYBA USB dongle and Acer netbook....

A close lightning strike last Sunday took out my e-probe, the fet in the battery operated water leakage detector in the basement, and apparently the EMP from the close hit induced a voltage into my home stereo power amp speaker wires and cooked a few audio transistors. Everything else that was grounded seemed to survive intact.  All the GFCIs tripped in my basement and 3 or 4 will not test-reset---but they provide AC power (time to replace obviously). It could have been much worse. Seems all that copper in the French drain  AC service ground upgrade I added last year did it's job well....

Neon bulbs across the EWE transformers at the antennas were all intact.....
