Is anyone using WSPR-15 at 2200 m these days? WSPR-2 has about the same
detection threshold as QRSS3, which certainly isn't working out very well
here for VE3OT's daytime groundwave.
Less noise today, and SIW has been showing up on 1750 m very nicely--even
partially visible at QRSS3 itself, for that matter--but the only part of
VE3OT I'm able to copy visually at QRSS3 is the OT. The rest of the ID has
to be decoded in DT mode ("Deep Thought") with prior knowledge of the
message. The QRSS10 trace has been quite clear today, although it's too
cramped to read, of course.
I'm about to go back to the field and wrap up the SIW captures. After a
little HiFER exploring, I will probably return to VE3OT and see what the
transition to darkness brings.
