Warren interested to see what the impedance is at your height - I shoved up a full sized (bent!) 475kHz  dipole at around 20ft and was expecting around 12.5ohms but got 50 ohms!
 
 Didn't work for me but didn't test the low angle off the ends bit - I tx'd on it for a few reasonable condition nights but no decodes out of state -  Other people have done a lot better but perhaps I squeezed it a little bit too much or my ground etc  is playing with me. Dipole become a few more radials!
