: On the 472 mod, I did one for someone recently using the Mouser inductor
: specified at the top of the article, mounting the inductor directly to the
: board where the trace is cut with short leads to the switch.

That's what I was thinking of doing, keep it short and simple.

: As to how low will the existing slug will go, I dont know. I didnt want
to
: lose 160m so...

I'd be happy to get to 500 KHz or so at this point. I need to sweep an
antenna at 660 KHz in the next month or three. I'll calculate the needed
inductance and capacitance to get close, tweak the capacitance to fine tune.
The antenna will have a network at the base, then about 15' of 50 Ohm co-ax
to a 1:4 or 1:9 BalUn(haven't determined that part yet), then into the
receiver.

Was thinking of a 660 KHz oscillator and just tune for best signal strength
in the receiver, then thought about a 660 KHz AM broadcast transmitter, low
power, with a reflectometer and see what I get... A modified 249 or 259
would be a lot easier and more practical in the long run.

I was thinking of just tweaking the 249 and see what I get, if not enough,
setting it back to where it was, then trying the mod on the page.
