[Lowfer] 137 kHz (really OT) - and a bit of radio

Interestingly enough and complete off topic - in the Soviet military in the 70/80's the LF/MF base radio operator op using around 200-400kHz for Aircraft Helicopter (dangle antennae wire out of the helicopter on a weighted line) - ops in the Arctic were the most likely to be chewed upon by something large and White or that came in packs.... job wise - statistically that is :-) ...wanders out of radio shack bleary eyed etc....

My colleagues all had 44 Redhawks Rugers and I had the .38 for some reason

Sorry to hear about your local issues John - same sort of problems here in the Matsu Valley as can be seen on Alaska State Troopers -

Overnight the MF band was very fickle - poor propagation to the lower 48 States and Canada but the path to KH6 was at CW read levels for a few hours - that's before the Sun threw another wobbler.

Laurence KL7L (and occasional past UA0 ops)

John,

Nobody ever said Lowfering was easy, but we haven't lost one yet. Be
careful out there!
