Warren,

I'd be looking for dried-out SMT electrolytics. Presuming that you have 
the schematic, check that IC411 and associated circuitry is really 
making -5V. If not, then change the electrolytics around it. If memory 
serves, that circuitry is inside a can on the board.

If the -5V is OK, then the problem may be in the noise blanker 
circuitry. That's Q731 through 737 and IC731. Never had to work on it.

All R75's should have the noise blanker.
