No transmitter hang-on problems last night so plenty of Navtex decodes
came through on 518 kHz. Not quite as many area 4 stations decoded as
usual because Puerto Rico apparently is down at the moment, but did get
10 stations: A,B,C,E,F,G,H,N,P,and U. X was in there but not strong
enough to decode. All 3 US area 12 stations decoded: C, Q, and W. And
best of all, area 15 station K in Puerto Montt, Chile decoded a message.
Looked awhile for "XPQ" using QRSS20 on 475.495 kHz but didn't copy
anything. Perhaps I abandoned ARGO too soon because 518 kHz Navtex
station J was noted around 1334Z (local sunrise). Not strong enough to
decode but glad to see something from AK for the first time since last
fall. Conditions to the north were good here because RB in Resolute Bay
on 350 kHz was even stronger than the much closer NDB NY in BC.
