Interesting to note on above capture I had the AGC "off" and the IPO "on" with my FT-817 and his signal was not dog-boning. I turned the preamp "off" and his signal immediately
started to dog-bone.  Apparently the IPO in the FT-817 either has it's own AGC or it overrides the AGC setting in the menu when the IPO is ON....
