Hi, John and tnx for the warm welcome. I just plain forgot to add the attachment but upon sending out another email to include it I noticed the 50k limit for the Lowfer Group and had to do some fancy footwork to trim it down.

I have been running a QRSS grabber for 5 years now and recently added a time-sharing feature that lets me watch two different bands by switching the frequency every ten minutes. I also run WSPR to decode the calls.

I have an old loop on a pvc frame which I'm going to reconfigure for 600m and am looking forward to some MF fun this winter. I've seen the one you are using and it looks looks like something I can do with the old pvc frame.

The URL for my QRSS grabber is http://www.qsl.net/w4hbk/W4HBKgrabber.html At present I am watching 600m on weekday nights.

Hi Bill -

Welcome aboard. It seems the reflector did not allow your attachment to come through.

Yes there are a number of guys using very unconventional antennas very succesfully for RX and even TX. Coverage in the SE US has been light since Juan K4LCD / WF2XXQ located in Miami QRTed at the end of the 2012 season so your reports and activity from Florida are most appreciated.

I am Bill, W4HBK, located in Pensacola, FL and have just started experimenting with 600m using my QRSS grabber. Enclosed is an image I made last night in the WSPR band by recording 10 minute grabs and stitching them together to show propagation from 0100z to 1200z. It's amazing I'm seeing anything at all considering my antenna, a 30/40m inverted V, and the enormous QRN level here on the Gulf Coast.
