[Lowfer] no SAQ ... but

I was wondering whether this transmission would go ahead since the
Alexanderson Alternator does not have exclusive use of the antenna.

Sweden's navy have been submarine hunting these last few days.

Besides being well known as Grimeton, the local town name is Varberg and in
the ITU Frequency List you will find SAS Varberg on 40.4 kHz. And when I was
last in Varberg for the 2011 Alexanderson Day, I did not see any other LF
antennas.

A quick look at Peter's DF3LP website http://www.df3lp.de/ shows a near
continuous transmission on 40.4 kHz today at
http://lf-radio.de/cgi-bin/fh/show_wf.cgi?date=14-10-24

My SDR-IQ is off line today due suspect power supply issues (I use it via a
network to USB convertor which supplies the 5-volt via USB)

Listened for SAQ 17.2 kHz this morning ... before reading that the
transmission had been officially
cancelled. Tuned down the band a bit and was glad to hear the Alpha beeps
coming through with
excellent signal levels. NWC Australia 19.8 kHz, RDL Russia 18.1 and 21.1
were quite prominent ...
as well as all the usual 'suspects'. Looking forward to another VLF/LF/MF
season! Trying to find
time to add ELF reception capabilities.
