Garry & Warren: Interesting results from the SIW location. Looks to be about
twice the distance for Garry vs me to XGR/1. I was running the Collins
300Hz CW filter in my FT-847 that
is only 850Hz wide at -60dB points for the XGR/1 report last night. Likely
I had the 200Hz audio DSP on as well. Not very fair to compare to an typical
2.5 to 3.0 kHz SSB rx filter that could easily be >10 times that
bandwidth....
That said, backing out 10 to 13 dB SNR for me vs Garry on IF filters and
adding 6dB for the additional "twice the distance" loss appears to be about
right for comparison purposes....
Still no BDQ copies here in EN90xn on 630M wspr2 although I have not had the
time to hang another EWE antenna to the 280~300 degree direction.
Looks like it may be quieter QRN condx tonite, so I may try my SW/NE EWE in
unterminated omni mode...
