Was surprised last night to find NDB YPH coming in very strong from the
Arctic (396 kHz, Inukjuak, Quebec at 1963 km). DGPS stations made a good
showing too - Cape Ray, NL on 288 kHz decoded fine in the evening and as
local sunrise neared Richmond, BC on 320 kHz decoded fine too. Ventucopa
(Lompoc), CA on 321 kHz was in and out through much of the night.
Didn't copy anything on 302 kHz (where Miraflores, Panama often decodes)
but NDB GPI on 309 kHz from GUAPI, Columbia was decent copy, as was UCY
on 380 kHz from 'Cayabo' Cayajabos, Cuba. Not too many European VLF
signals came through in the evening but this morning NWC on 19.8 kHz
from Australia is doing quite well. On the ham front the usual daytime
sources MP on 137 kHz and EAR on 188 kHz are also doing well.
