Subject: Re: [Lowfer] WSPR on MF last 24 hours
The milder noise levels really helped WSPR reception last night. And, I'm
pleased to see my logs are finally uploading OK. The first one never did
show up. The second one mostly loaded, and the one I sent this morning
seemed to be all there in the database immediately. AFAIK, I'm not doing
anything differently
Just by way of summary, XXM was its usual powerhouse self, XIQ was back and
in fine form, sometimes only 2 dB lower than XXM. XXM was audible every
transmission and XIQ was audible for many of them. XKA was a recurring
visitor early in the evening, then XJM the rest of the night. XSV made four
or five appearances, and BDQ came through twice.
Might have had more decodes, except for two things: listening out for SL
over extended periods; and, a couple stations' timing was so far off that
the decoding process took too long and WSPR 2.12 sat out an entire time slot
every so often as a result. When I retarded the computer clock to be about
a second behind WWV, that seemed to clear up the collisions and the
"attempted to start decoder too soon" error messages.
An exhausting but fun night!
John
