Hi all:

I set up to monitor " EAR " overnight, and was I ever surprised this morning when I
reviewed the captures..

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/49203948/EAR%20overnight%20at%20KU4XR%207-19-2014.JPG

It was almost like Winter propagation in the middle of Summer..
I uploaded the cropped overnight captures to my dropbox with some basic details..
You will see the bright red signal between my 2 am till 5 am time period.. there are
a few of the characters that I believe could have been close to audible.. According to
the Spec Lab color scale I am using; the extreme bright red is approximately 15 dB
above the baseline noise level .. I was asleep at the time, so I can only speculate..
Without going back thru past captures of " EAR " to compare; I don't recall ever
receiving J.B.'s signal this strong before.. When the LWBC signal went away, he was
completely in the clear with a Whopping Signal here in Friendsville, TN. - EM75xr..
QRZ states the distance between us is 568 miles ( 914 Km ).. This is an amazing
signal, especially for Summertime.. I also see a lot of chatter that 630 meters was
well above " Good " last night too.. Looks like everyone had some fun.. Good deal..

Receiving setup is the same here: Kenwood TS450S, Dual 500 Hz Filters,
Outboard 70 Hz Audio Filter, and using Spec Lab with 20 Hz Audio Filters..
Using the 70 foot Hickory Nut "TREE-TENNA" and am still amazed at its performance..
No matching Transformers, just tapped it 12 feet AGL, and ran 80 feet of copper wire
into the shack.. The only thing I am doing in the shack is using a Variable Inductor,
in series with the feedline, to peak the Tree for best reception..

73 to all, and thanks for your time reading this..
