Hi All: Captures of lowfer EAR midday with

1: An e-probe single J310 12V at fet, up 16~18ft, CM choke & ground rod

2. My EWE antenna, same choke and ground rod

EWE wire was disconnected to "float" when the e-probe was in use,

EWE shows about 6dB improvement over e-probe in same approximate yard location on.....similar improvement found on 630m wspr2 comparing last nite's data with days prior for WG2XIQ....

On the e-probe at VLF I could only copy MSKs at 24.0 and 25.2, although both quite strong. The increase in gain with decreasing frequency quite noticeable. The EWE was

much quieter, hearing MSKs at 19.6, 20.9, 21.4, 22.1, 23.4, 24, 25.2, 40.7 and WWVB on 60.0 S8.... thinking I did not have enough cable choking (only about 10mH) I added an addition 80mh
cable choke to the e-probe and no improvement was noted....

Perhaps it is just my local noise environment with the closed loop arrangenent of the EWE antenna with transformers and feedlines on both ends being able to better manage the local noise.....

Not ready to give up on the e-probe yet. It did have a similar background noise level as the EWE on 188.83 in the -62 range....
