Twice an hour like clockwork, it was WE2XEB here until I gave up after the 
0645 slot.

I was prepared to go on longer, but something...possibly the dropping 
temperature...had the receiver's audio circuits confused.  (Detected audio 
output was down, volume control had little effect, yet the Morse 
notification of mode changes was loud enough to blast you out of the 
building.  It did this once before.  "Fixed" itself later, but still a 
nuisance.)

There was also more lightning-like noise on the S-meter later in the night, 
though I couldn't determine a plausible origin for it.  Result was that I 
was no longer seeing signal reports as good as -5 dB for XEB, but more 
like -11 to -14 toward the end.  DCF77 was not as strong as usual last 
night, and there were no LWBCs audible either.
