Good propagation to the west returned last night with five area 12
stations decoded: C, San Francisco, Ca; H, Tofino, BC; J, Kodiak, AK; Q,
Long Beach, CA; and W, Astoria, OR.
Long Beach decoded first, quite early at 0252Z, overpowering the Sydney,
NS station to the east. San Francisco came through at 0420Z just after
Bermuda and overpowering Rivière-au-Renard, QC. At 0450Z area 4 station
F in Boston decoded. This isn't a big deal in terms of DX but usually
it's overwhelmed by station E in GA. However, last night for some reason
E was thankfully silent. Next up was area 4, station M in Greenland at
0600Z. It also decoded well at 1000Z. Astoria was in for several
messages beginning 0740Z. Kodiak, AK was in and out for many minutes but
the last message at 0942Z decoded fully:

Tofino, area 12 station H decoded the intro but just a bit of the
message at 1201Z. As this note was started San Francisco, CA was
decoding messages again (1221Z). Too bad "local" area 4 station N was
long-winded as usual at 1010Z or perhaps Hawaii might have decoded, but
all in all a good night for Navtex.
