Too much noise most of tonight for DK7FC after I switched from 137.78 down
to the TA segment.. QRN actually got worse as the evening progressed, not
better. Not only did the thunderstorms down at the Mexican border increase
in area once they reached the Gulf, we also had an area of lightning develop
down in central Arkansas.

None the less, I did see signal prior to roughly 0115, when it began fading
or else got swamped by all the noise. If Stefan was using 0.2 Hz shift and
the higher one was right on 136.172, then I will claim detection...and an
actual decode of one "C" just for good measure.

I checked DCF77 real quickly about 0115 and had S6 signal among the S9+
crashes. JJY was just audible on 40 kHz. France Inter had an S9 signal
that would have been pleasant listening if it hadn't been for so many +50 dB
crashes in AM bandwidth. Medi 1 wasn't doing so well, but Europe 1 was
fair...and I heard BBC on 198 for the first time in ages! Were it not for
the static, it might have been listenable with the notch filter nulling the
adjacent NDB carrier.

BTW, on Sunday afternoon I saw HiFERs USC, EH, 7P, and NC. Since I was
running late, I didn't make my usual sweep of the whole band, only the
watering hole. USC was loudly audible, and the 10 Hz shift was easily
detectable by ear at 800 Hz. A couple of times, 7P was plainly audible as
well. EH was somewhat audible, but 5 Hz shift out of 900 Hz is a little
less than my ears could discriminate. Haven't seen anything out of the MP
HiFER in quite a while, alas.
