[Lowfer] setting up a grabber

I've always been drawn to the "challenge" of it. You got to be on the spot
to catch the openings. Have 131 DXCC worked on 6 meters and always looking
for more. Lowfering has its own challenges and is in a way similar in
catching the odd ball openings. Next challenge would be actually able to
transmit. Not sure I want to jump into that quite yet. Kind of wait and see
if an amateur band ever grows out of this. It's all fun. Enjoy a lot of
different aspects of amateur radio.

Never made a contact on 6 meters, but that is another of those "weird"
bands that I have always been drawn to.

I personally am burned out on conventional amateur radio. Did the whole
WAS, DXCC thing back in the early 1990s, mostly CW. Also plenty of 2 meter
rag chewing.

But even during all that, LF always held my main interest, due to the
occasional QST article, and (more often) Wayne Green's 73 magazine, which
always seemed open to LF experimentation.

LF/VLF has always been strange enough to keep my interest. If not for that,
I might be into microwaves, as was noted today how many "microwave" junkies
are also interested in LF.

A strange brew, for sure.
