Hi Fellas, I've been out of LowFERing for a while . . .
 
Well, so I thought I'd start things up a bit but hit a pc wall; The XP box would not come up -- nothing.
 
By nothing I mean no output to the monitor or sign that it has booted. (I'm a retired IT guy and used to install business configurations.)
 
Did many substitutions: Monitor to laptop, works. PS puts out 12, 5, 3.3V. Changed pci video card, reset many plugins, including RAM.
 
Removed the DSL and game cards
 
CD and floppy drives react to opening. Floppy boot disk, no reaction on boot.
 
Substituted the HD, nothing.
 
The one reaction: briefly the lights on the KB flash as the HD does its usual initial buzz.
