Jay: A convenient reference source for LWBCs is here ....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longwave look further down the page for the
chart....
With a few exceptions the EU LWBC standard frequency spaceing is 9kHz so
the standard channels are 153, 162, 171, 180, 189, etc. However, there is a
Euro 1 station on 183 at times and a German station on 177 at times.
I've heared LWBCs on 153, 162, 171, 177, 183, 189, 198, 207, 216, 225, 234,
and 252 at one time or another. My EWE antenna helps null out NDBs DIW on
198 and CLB on 216 kHz off the back. Propgation is like the weather in
some places that changes all the time, so what one hears in a given 5 minute
interval may not hold true for the next 5 minutes....but at times I have
been able to copy a LWBC Q5 for 20 to 30 minutes, although that kind of
steady signal duration is not a usual event for me. Of course your mileage
may vary......
Spin the dial now & then and see what's out there..... 73 Mike wa3tts
