Thanks for all the info on the transformer, Andy.  I tried dropping the "s" as you suggested, but still no go on the link.
I can pretty much picture in my mind what you're doing with it.  I might try some experiments myself if it ever warms
up enough to work with bare hands outside.  It's -15C here as I type this.
