[Lowfer] Gearmo USB-Serial Adapter

Is there anyone on the list that might be using one of Gearmo's adapters for 
transmitter tx line control? My older laptop was fine for this as it had a 
serial port for switching  but not the new one.
I gather that some of the adapters can be a bit glitchy but the Gearmo ones 
seems to get favorable reports from the radio community.
