>If you're looking for better performing modes, why GMSK?

I think I can shed some light on this.

I like and use GMSK for a couple of reasons:  I *AM* bandwidth limited and the MMVARI interface that contains GMSK has the necessary control functionality that my station needs to run properly, most notably CAT control.  I have tried CMSK and did not care for the interface and it seemed to be difficult to tune and less sensitive than GMSK at the time I was running it regularly during the Fall/early winter of 2013.  I've had many long, meaningful ragchews on 630m GMSK with XJM, XXM, and even one quick exchange when conditions were good with XKA.  Its also very easy to tune and signals tend to jump out much more clearly in the MMVARI interface than in others that use a waterfall alone.

If someone can direct me to another MSK software package that is robust in functionality and control processes, I will certainly check it out provided it meets my bandwidth limitations.  Ideally some of these modes should make the transition to FLDigi, which works very well and has a great interface.

For me, I am far more interested in the QSO and the content of that QSO rather worrying about some astonishingly low detection limit.
