[Lowfer] PSK31 success last night.

I'd be interested in listening for your PSK31 signal in Kansas some night
when the storm noises aren't as severe as they were last night, Neil. I had
a continuous S9 roar on 630m here, and worse down lower in frequency.
Couldn't even see MP on 2200m last night, and that's unusual.

If you're looking for better performing modes, why GMSK? Its only advantage
over conventional MSK is narrower occupied bandwidth, which is important in
some applications, but that comes at a price...more power is needed for
comparable performance, and the software has to compensate for the
intersymbol interference that arises from the Gaussian filtering. All MSK
modes are phase-continuous (unlike PSK), so there are no envelope amplitude
variations to affect your Class D amplifier. Plain MSK at a suitable bit
rate for the conditions found on the band might be a better alternative.
