Hi all:
I am going to be transmitting in QRSS-10 tonite on 160 meters, and need some monitors
for a couple of hours.. I have installed my N3BA VCTCXO unit, and want to try it out on
transmit to see how stable it keeps the rig now.. I definitely trust any captures, and
reports from anyone on the lowFER list for accuracy.. I will be transmitting on my radio
dial at 1.810.78 MHz.. My keying scheme will be keying the radio by VOX in A.M. mode,
so I will be literally transmitting an unmodulated carrier, and not a tone frequency..
I hope to run from 8:30 EDST till 10:30 pm ( 00:30 till 02:30 UTC ) barring any problems..
I set the Osc to WWV at 20 MHz as close as I can by ear, switching between LSB/USB
and listening for tone change... Primarily, I am wanting to knwo how close to the frequency
is the rig, and how close to it does it stay while running QRSS-10.. I will be running 5 watts
to not overheat the radio, and using my Windom antenna.. All captures, and frequency
readings will be appreciated.. This is as close to GPS locked as I'll get, so if it doesn't
hold fairly steady, then my hopes of Transverting down to 630 meters with this old rig will
be out of the question.. Thanks in advance to any who will spare me some of your time..
73 to all:
