Lloyd: Thanks for the reminder. I had not used digital mode in a year and I
forgot that my FT-817 displays the transmit freq as the "dial" frequency
when selecting "DIG" vs USB....
Rx "dial" tonite for now 1.836590. There is likely a way for me to run
split and have 1.83660 on rx and separate tx frequency....I'll give that a
look before I post anything to lowfer list
Also using my 18x 70 x 18 foot EWE with ground wire as rx/tx antenna this
evening. 2.5W out (+34) and 1 W (+30)absorbed at the termination in shack
(ME 11 B/U watt meter) for +30 on transmit. EZ-NEC says my EWE is -16 peak
front lobe gain --- likely some capacitive coupling to my short ground plane
vertical.... Once it gets dark in the midwest I will switch from NE to
SW....
