I asked this of Markus some time back ... here is his response:
"It is normal that each sequence is picked up in several consecutive FFT slots with varying degree
of temporal overlap, producing partial correlations. A spot is displayed as soon as the correlation
peak reaches the 15 dB threshold, which often happens many minutes before the sequence is really
completed. The early results are replaced by later ones if these are better, ie. higher correlation
dB's in the rightmost column. Usually (but not always) the best detection occurs around the time of
highest overlap."
