Lightning got my active probe Tuesday night. It was my fault. I didn't turn it off but I didn't expect the big lightning with 45 degree temp and in March.

I have a replacement from Clifton Labs and if it stops raining , I will wade out into the lake and swap it out. The lake has risen about a foot and a half since I installed it. That probably makes it better.
