Thanks Garry:  I think the "propagation gods" decided to throw me a bone (hi), the LF~VLF setup is rather modest here....

Keeping an ear on the LW BC's seems to have an analogy to keeping an eye on UHF TV for 

weak signal work at the other end of the spectrum.....
