Hi All: Trolling e-pay last weekend I stumbled across this Hallicrafters S-51 Seafearer ,138 kHz to 13 MHz, had to snatch it up......price was right

in amazingly good shape....hearing AM & SW stations with a 4ft wire and PC network coomon mode noise on longwave for first test----

pulling a steady 30W .3A @ 115V on the variac and isolation transformer....still has the factory QC tag in place dated May 28, 1948....

Looks like I'll be trolling the 600M band for Part 5 CW stations, NDBs, and perhaps LW BC's with it this weekend.....

May try the Hi-Z headphone out through an isolation transformer for some QRSS 3 or higher if the LO is stable enuf....
