You bet!  I'm on my way out to the farm in a few minutes to listen for some
of them, in fact.

If you notice, most of the operator contact and listener report dates shown
in that listing are very recent.  Now that we're in a (relatively) active
part of the solar cycle, even winter is a good time for HiFER operation.
There aren't as many people reporting on them at this time of year as in the
spring and summer months, of course, but you'll still find messages from
both HiFER beacon operators and listeners monitoring for them in the LW
Message Board ( http:lwca.org/mb/ ) all year long.

The Argo software is especially helpful for the QRSS3 and FSK CW and DFCW
modes you'll find there.  Some beacons still use 5 to 12 wpm Morse.  While
you won't hear those as often, sitting on their frequency for long enough
during the afternoon will often turn up some surprisingly good signals.
