[Lowfer] OT: Soldering Iron

Thanks for the recommendations and hints. Thanks, Todd. The heat did
it with the penetrating oil, vice grips and pump pliers. I ended up
splitting the knurled nut. A replacement can be bought. I'll order
what I need and get it back in shape. It's been a handy iron and it's
tough.

As it turns out, I did a bunch of surfing today. I know a whole lot
about soldering irons now. More than I need to know. I went through
this same thing 2 weeks ago with a new toilet for the downstairs bath.
If anyone wants to know what kind of toilet I settled on, we can talk
off list :)

I bought a new station anyway. I found a Hakko 936 Chinese clone. It
was $16.51 plus almost as much shipping. For 30 bucks, I'll take a
chance. Here's where I got it:

BTW: I have a "pre-ban" Eljer toilet for sale or trade (got some 100
watt incandescent light bulbs?). Shhhhh, don't tell the fascists!
