Good observations there, Andy.  That "Save Settings as..." and "Load 
Settings from..." workaround might make life easier for what Doug is doing. 
In my case, it seems to still require that one access to the menu at startup 
of each new instance, but that's still a lot easier than having to do 
several of the settings manually each time.

It doesn't seem to help a lot with the capture settings, which is where I 
have the most differences from session to session, but perhaps a little more 
experimenting will point to a clue.
