When I back the audio off to near zero I get many parallel lines. Tuning the radio does not move them side to side. I set the maximum signal frequency readout and it does not move when the radio is tuned. It always areas around 800 HZ no matter where the radio is tuned. Looks like a Windows problem.
The same sound card settings work fine with ARGO.

Pat,
Running XP Pro. I know it also works with 2000 and 98, but don't have 7
on anything here.
Backing off on RF gain or audio input level should reduce the unwanted
stuff. Jay's signal will appear as a vertical line that jumps between
the two yellow "portals" at 11 second intervals.
Note that this mode has NO error correction, and hits on characters are
common. Not sure what's going on in your case, though.

Have a very string carrier but just jibberish decodes. Very little changes in the waterfall as the audio level is changed. Yet the audio graph moves up and down as would be expected.
